NARM works for greater representation for UK rooflight manufacturers in European & global markets
NARM, the UK’s National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers, has joined Eurolux, the European trade association for rooflight manufacturers.
Eurolux represents the interests of European manufacturers of individual rooflights, continuous rooflights and smoke and heat ventilating systems on a European administrative and legislative level in Brussels.
In the UK, NARM is a member of CPA, the Construction Products Association and represents the rooflight industry in consultation with the Government and legislative bodies including, CIBSE, AECOM and the BRE, on issues relating to standards and compliance. NARM plays a key role in providing information to ensure that legislation is based on best practice.
NARM is also represented on relevant BSI committees for all rooflight product standards and through this position the association also represents the UK industry with reference to European standards.
NARM Chairman, Jon Shooter, said: “Joining Eurolux has enabled closer communication with European legislators and influencers, in order that the interests of UK manufacturers are not only represented but also to ensure a fair playing field for all rooflight manufacturers throughout Europe – at a time of rapid change within EU and global markets. The UK is a technology leader in rooflighting and it is therefore appropriate that NARM is involved in setting regulation and driving the industry in the wider European community.”
Representatives from NARM’s influential Technical Committee have already contributed in recent Eurolux meetings and working groups to initiate the process of introducing clearer regulations within Europe’s rooflighting industry.
