NARM, the National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers, is celebrating its 20th Anniversary in 2018. NARM is an active trade association representing UK rooflight suppliers and associated businesses. The Association is dedicated to the application of best practice in the provision of natural light in built environments.

During 2015, visits to the website have increased by over 16% taking 2015's projected total to over 8,000 visits.

The report is entitled: ‘Analysis of Improving Daylighting and Lighting Controls on a Number of Existing Non-Domestic Buildings’ and provides a detailed insight into the affects of rooflighting on building energy consumption and emissions.

NARM has issued a new document to replace its NTD 01 2009 'Natural Daylight Design Through Rooflighting' document. The new document, NTD01.2 is entitled 'An introduction to natural daylight design through rooflighting' and provides a broad overview of the factors to consider in the design and specification of rooflights.

The membership of NARM, the National Association of Rooflight Manufacturers continues to increase, further strengthening the Association's position as an authoritative voice for the UK's rooflight industry.

The HSE’s ‘Health & safety in roof work’ publication HSG331 highlights the fact that “Roofers account for 24% of all workers who are killed in falls from height while at work. Falls through fragile materials, such as rooflights and asbestos cement roofing sheets, account for more of these deaths than any other single cause. There are also many serious injuries, often resulting in permanent disabilities.”
